DC Motors
DC motors offer precise speed control and high starting torque. They are high on accuracy and can start/stop quickly. Two main types of DC motors are brushed or brushless.
- Brushed motors are a simple design making them less expensive and easy to control. Less reliable due to brushes and commutators having a lower efficiency, and potentially higher noise levels.
- Brushless tend to have a longer lifespan, a higher efficiency, smooth operation, less noise, and higher torque density; but, do come at higher cost.
