At OnDrive Inc., we provide products and solutions found in some of the most demanding commercial & industrial applications around the world. NEMA & IEC motors are used globally in both commercial & industrial applications. Our motor products meet the demands of modern automation systems and are engineered for energy-efficient performance, reliable torque control, and reduced downtime. Whether you’re running a production line, manufacturing, lifting/conveyor, or packaging system, our motors deliver long-term value with minimal maintenance requirements.

We offer many types of electric motors: Induction, Synchronous, AC motors, DC motors, gearmotors, variable speed solutions, T-Frame, stainless steel, general purpose 1 & 3 phase, permanent magnet and more.

General Purpose Motor

These induction and synchronous motors can be either single or 3 phase. These motors are efficient, durable and widely available.

Explosion Proof Motor

Used in applications when materials are highly combustible. Industries include gas & oil, chemical & petroleum refineries and mining.

Severe-Duty Motor

These motors protect against contamination, moisture, vibration and demanding duty cycles. They tend to have a long life in harsher environments. Some of the industries include Petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp & paper mills, rock crushers and waste management.

Farm Duty Motor

These motors are used in the rugged conditions in the agriculture sector. They are reliable and keep our farmers running.

Washdown Motor

Washdown motors are engineered to meet the demanding conditions of food & beverage processing, where hygiene, durability, and performance is critical.

IEC Motors

These motors are engineered based on the metric system. They are found in various machines and equipment. These motors operate on 50Hz unlike the North American 60Hz.

Definite Purpose Motor

Definite purpose motors are designed for a specific, unique application or environment rather than a broad range of general uses. They provide application-specific solutions and reliability in a range of enclosures, frame sizes, and power ranges. These motors are built for durability and efficiency and tend to be lower cost than a general purpose motor.

Brake Motors

These are equipped with an integrated brake system, used where instantaneous stopping of a load is required. They offer precise control & enhanced safety with their “Fail-Safe” operation. Usually more compact making them useful in elevator, hoist/crane lifting applications along with conveyor systems or automated machinery.

Fan and Blower Motors

Offer variable speed options, allowing for precise control of airflow. They are designed to provide efficient air circulation, contributing to ventilation and airflow in various applications including HVAC systems, industrial processing and electronic cooling. They are ideal for temperature regulation.

Fan Motor

Used for low pressure applications, their focus is to move large volumes of air with minimal pressure changes. Applications include ventilation systems, duct work and cooling applications (axial or centrifugal fans).

Blower Motor

Used in high pressure applications, they are designed to move against resistance. Applications include dust collection, air compressors and industrial machinery.

Pump Motor

Designed to power a pump used to move fluids (liquid or gas) under pressure. Pump motors are used in applications like water pumps, hydraulic systems, food processing, washdown applications and industrial processes.

DC Motors

DC motors offer precise speed control and high starting torque. They are high on accuracy and can start/stop quickly. Two main types of DC motors are brushed or brushless.

  • Brushed motors are a simple design making them less expensive and easy to control. Less reliable due to brushes and commutators having a lower efficiency, and potentially higher noise levels.
  • Brushless tend to have a longer lifespan, a higher efficiency, smooth operation, less noise, and higher torque density; but, do come at higher cost.

Geared & Gearless motors in lift systems

Geared motors use a gearbox (or gearhead) to reduce speed & increase torque, while gearless motors transmit power directly without a gearbox. This results in different performance characteristics, such as efficiency, size, and maintenance requirements.

  • Geared motors offer balance of torque & speed and are more cost effective.
  • Gearless motors increase efficiency & speed but potentially sacrifice torque. They can achieve higher speeds and have a quieter operation making them ideal for high rise lifting, while geared are efficient in low to mid rise.

Permanent Magnet Motors

PM motors are motors that use permanent magnets to create a magnetic field needed for motor operation. They do not require current. This makes them more efficient and reliable in applications where high torque, compact design and high efficiency is required. There are several types of permanent magnet motors, 2 common ones are PMAC & PMDC.

PMAC (Permanent Magnet AC) Motors

Uses rare-earth magnets embedded into the surface of the rotator providing a strong magnetic field around the rotor. These require a VFD (variable frequency drive) and possibly an encoder to control. Low vibration and low noise make these ideal in applications like hoists, cranes, elevator/ escalator, material handling, pumps, fans and mixers. Down side is they can be more expensive than induction motors and can be more difficult to maintain.

PMDC (Permanent Magnet DC) Motors

A DC motor that utilizes permanent magnets in the stator to generate the magnetic field needed for its operation. Brushes make contact with the commutator segments, transferring the DC current from the DC power supply to the rotor windings.
These motors have high starting torque, are highly efficient, low maintenance, more compact and cost effective. They can be difficult to control speed and de-magnetization is possible. Common applications are industrial equipment, robotics, automotive, packaging and automated assembly.

From general purpose to explosion proof, we can offer a wide range of manufacturers.
